Unlock the path to freedom from anxiety by delving into its hidden fears. Anxiety, though often debilitating, holds the key to transformative healing. With over two decades of experience and more than 17,000 hours of direct client contact, I have dedicated myself to guiding individuals through the labyrinth of anxiety and various mental health challenges. My approach begins with establishing a robust foundation, ensuring a stable platform before we venture into the depths to gain insight. Strengthened and equipped with newfound understanding, we navigate to the roots of the pain, uncovering the source of anxiety. The journey then evolves into building essential skills to manage triggers and address and overcome the core pain at its foundation. If you resonate with the prospect of breaking free from anxiety's grip, I invite you to a consultation. It would be an honour to explore the potential for collaboration on your journey of healing and growth. Together, let's embark on a transformative path towards a life liberated from the shackles of anxiety.

Although anxiety has an important evolutionary function (namely, to alert us to danger), it can show up at the most inopportune times with great gusto! In such cases, anxiety can feel like an unwelcome guest that smashes into our hopes and dreams. Further, as we try to fight it off, it can intensify, as if it were wrapping us up in bubble wrap and preventing us from fully engaging in our lives. In therapy, I support clients in exploring their relationship with anxiety, developing tools to regulate when it shows up, becoming curious if it has an important message for them, and working with it to form a supportive (less bubble-wrapped) relationship. In my personal and clinical experience, I have seen that anxiety can be an opportunity to reflect on what is most meaningful to us and to take action towards our deepest goals and dreams.

Anxiety is a physiological response to fear and/or uncertainty or something that has happened in the past that gets projected into the future. One of the first things I suggest to my clients to do is to slow down; pause and take a breath as the awareness of the anxiety is the first step. Emma Seppala in her TED talk provides us with a exercise in breathing which helps us to do this; she uses breathing in her work to help Vietnam Veterans s to heal from the trauma of war. Other reference for anxiety is Elisha Goldstein Ph.D. Also Elissa Epel Deep Breathing.

When we live life largely identified with the worlds ideas and beliefs about who we are, what we should be, and be in control of, we are cut off from our own inner connectedness to what is real, and to the intimacy and meaning within us - that leaves us separate, fearfull and worried, and more living from our thinking mind than from being connected to our hearts. When we to relax back into what is deeper that our fears we can find safety and ground in our own inner being, and from here we can see more clearly "what is what"
