I have worked with depression for may years and have done a lot of studying in this area. I primarily use CBT, ACT, and Solution Focused therapy to help manage depression.
Feeling grief, loss, and depression are completely normal when coping with a medical condition or overwhelming role of helping others. I can help you "control-alt-delete" on problematic narratives so you can reshape your worldview into one that has realistic hope and optimism. By working through these feelings, you can come out on the other side with a newfound perspective to ensure your life is rich and full despite the barriers encountered.
Licensed Professional Counselor, DBH, MBA, LPC, NCC
We believe depression is a symptom of a damaged sense of identity caused when character attributes such as confidence, boundaries, trust or communicate have been compromised or not developed during early childhood.
Depression is so much more than just "being sad." It can often also come with a loss of purpose, of motivation, of interest in the life around us, and lack of care for ourselves. Healing from depression often requires that we give ourselves grace for the real limitations of our body and mind, while also increasing our desire and drive to continue to develop a meaningful, rich, fulfilling live with deep relationships. I hope to help you find not only the things that bring you joy, but also a greater sense of value and worth in your life and being who you are, so that you can continue to build a life worth living and experience both joy and sadness as they were meant to be.
