Dr. Nicole Parkes
Psychologist, PsyD
I extend a compassionate hand to those engulfed in the shadows of depression. I understand the profound weight of this silent struggle, where each day can feel like an insurmountable journey. My approach is not just about alleviating symptoms, but about forging a deep, empathetic connection where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Together, we'll navigate through the darkness, uncovering hidden strengths and igniting the spark of hope. It’s a journey towards reclaiming joy, rediscovering purpose, and gently rekindling the light within that depression has dimmed.

Not all depressive symptoms are the same.
It's important that your provider asks the right questions. Often, the label “Depression” is tossed around in popular culture as a way to describe a feeling or a mood, i.e. “I’m depressed thinking about how much work I have to do this weekend” or, “After looking at my bank balance this morning, I’m completely depressed.” While these situations CAN trigger sadness, hopelessness, and/or other unpleasant emotions, they are NOT a Depressive Disorder.
We want to help rule out chemical, physical, environmental, and other factors to help you really get to the bottom of things.
