I have had the privilege of supporting numerous clients who have confronted profound challenges related to trauma and are navigating the enduring impact it has left on their lives. My primary focus is on alleviating the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) stemming from these experiences and guiding individuals toward a path of healing. Together, we work towards fostering a sense of safety and embarking on a journey towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
I use a trauma informed approach to help clients recover from trauma and PTSD. This is paired with grounding tools and is done at the pace which feels most comfortable for clients. I work with all types of traumas.
Past and recent painful life experiences such as adverse childhood experiences, domestic abuse,
intergenerational, racial trauma, accidents or any other distressing or disturbing events can cause psychological, emotional, spiritual, and physical trauma, often resulting in unfavorable behaviors and strategies, called coping mechanisms, to manage the emotional stress and pain. Unresolved trauma damages a person’s sense of safety, self-evaluation, as well as their ability to regulate emotions and navigate relationships with self and others. By concentrating on what’s happening in your body, you can get in touch with trauma-related energy and tension, and your natural survival instincts will take over, safely releasing pent-up energy through shaking, crying, and other forms of physical and emotional release.
Trauma is not what happened to us but how our nervous system responded to it. With my clients I work through trauma from a holistic perspective that includes somatic, emotional and spiritual work. Processing our trauma in a safe, non judgemental space allows us to live more integrated and fulfilled lives.
