Trauma overwhelms our ability to cope, both in the moment and after the event. Our bodies can become stuck in various states (e.g. hyper vigilance or hypo vigilance) and our minds unable to process or respond to information. In order to help restore functionality, both the mind and the body need to be in sync for functional and resilient living.
Trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, PTSI - all need specialized knowledgable care, through years of training. Trauma informed care is not enough for this type of work. They can all be healed.
