When working with suicidal thoughts, I like to start with some mindfulness around the issue to gain a deeper understanding of the experience, from here there are many options, and I rely of the client's wisdom to guide me.

After volunteering with a crisis center I developed a passion for helping people find new hope while accepting life as it is. This requires us to acknowledge how suicidal thoughts are a normal part of the human experience, and how to move be ourselves forward finding our own personal power in the midst of severe odds. We move beyond safety planning to an exploration of how to move towards well being.
No matter the cause of these thoughts, you do not need to be alone in your journey to heal. I will work with you on strategies for coping to ensure the best support for you during these difficult times. I will help support you as we work through the thoughts and feelings you are having to move you forward in your healing process. Focusing on therapeutic relationship and building trust allows me to help support you while using a solution-focused lens.
Confronting suicidal thoughts requires immediate, compassionate intervention. My approach provides a safe space for clients to express their feelings and work towards a place of hope and healing. Using crisis intervention techniques and safety planning, I support clients in finding reasons to live and coping strategies to manage their pain.
Many of our registered psychologists and licensed therapists have extensive training and experience providing psychotherapy treatment for suicidal ideation to children, adolescents, and adults.
