Licensed Professional Counsellor, M.H., RTC, C.CH T
My approach to counselling is to respect and value the uniqueness of every individual and where they are. I work to support them using creativity, with warmth, understanding and at times, a touch of humour when appropriate.
Creating a safe and supportive environment to begin the healing work following emotional abuse is a priority for me in my work with clients. I know first hand the impact emotional abuse has on one's ability to engage in relationships and I want to help people regain trust in themselves to identify and maintain healthy relationships with others. Working on boundaries and personal values is a key part of this process as well as exploring underlying traumas and abuses.
Emotional abuse robs us of our confidence, self-worth and sense of psychological safety. I can help you heal. I also have experience in helping people recover from childhood emotional neglect (CEN).
Emotional abuse is very damaging because it brings confusion, negative self-image, lack of identity, insecurity, and lack of emotional regulation. We'll develop social skills, communication skills, boundaries, and assertiveness skills in the therapy process.
