Trauma creates profoundly deep and painful wounds. These wounds can be difficult to heal, as we often suppress them, have difficulty expressing them, or do not have safe spaces to unearth them. Unhealed trauma can inform how we make decisions, how we see ourselves, how we see others and our world, and how we react to these things. My work with trauma survivors is to instill hope and self-worth, acknowledge and validate all emotions, create feelings of safety, and provide permission giving for struggle. Remember, it is okay to not be okay.
I have over 20 years of experience with working with individual as it relates to trauma and PTSD. I also have experience with working with veterans and active-duty service members and their dependents as I have experience with working within the military culture.

My background of 20 years spent as therapist and Clinical Director of a southern CA program, and in private practice, treating clients with substance use disorders, led me to become Certified in EMDR Therapy, a primary treatment for trauma. Trauma treatment not only addresses physical and sexual abuse, but underlying shame experiences that lead to irrational negative thoughts about one's self, and replace them with rational positive thoughts that are your real truth. It takes courage to face your fears, and I offer a nonjudgmental, secure holding place to heal.
