The Key to successful parenting is based on your deepest feeling of love and affection for your child, and it is demontrated simply through empathy and understanding. Good parenting begins in your heart, and continues in the way you engage your child when feelings run high, when they are sad, angry or scared. The heart of parenting is being there in a particular way when it really counts.
We do provide therapy to children 0-5 years of age as well as children up to 17 years old and will provide parenting sessions in conjunction with therapy or standalone if needed.
My Imago training offers strong and practical guidelines for parenting in authentic, loving ways. Reading "Parenting from the Inside Out" by Dan Seigel, M.D. is a great book to understand the approach that I use with parents.
I specialize in "mindful parenting" with tools and techniques to practice patience, understanding, empathy and compassion first for how we as parents get triggered and react from what we know from our own upbringing.
