Marriage and Family Therapist, M.A., Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #79783
Stress has many origins: it often arises in response to external demands, but our belief systems and ways of relating to ourselves and others plays a huge role in shaping our stress response. I use EMDR, somatic, mindfulness and traditional talk therapy to work through its causes and find relief.
I specialize in supporting highly sensitive and growth-oriented individuals who have struggled to find their way, or have endeavored to do so in spite of great obstacles. With a background in trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and cognitive behavioral (i.e. ACT, DBT) interventions, I can help you to tap into your own internal resources and acquire the skills to navigate your life with greater ease.
When you are feeling yourself overwhelmed, under-resourced, and unsure how to get yourself where you want to be, you are likely stressed. Stress is a multifaceted and uncomfortable experience that includes a number of different emotions, physical symptoms, and urges. I have ways to assess stress in your life to understand the various factors that contribute to it and to problem-solve ways to reduce it. Helping people live a less stressed life is one of my core goals as a therapist.
Stress and anxiety can be the same but not always. Stress is usually a result of life circumstances and to manage it, there are many coping skills that can be used and implemented to improve stress and enjoy life more.
Life Coach, Trauma, PTSD, BSc Sciences, DoD Career Councilor, SARC, DAPA, Pre Licensed Human Intelligence / Psychology, Life Coach. | Professional Support: LSSBB, PgM, Bluestone PMP,
We work together to help you work through stress and build good habits so you are centered in your life and can deal with any type of stress that arises.
Social anxiety, in my opinion, is a completely normal reaction to a world that has become increasingly hard to navigate, interpret and understand. The last few years have been devastating for people trying to function, not alone make sense of the world around them. I work with clients to reframe their experience into an affirming, compassionate narrative that helps them see the beauty in both themselves and their environment.
Prevalent in our society- we all need ways to better manage and reduce stress. I approach obstacles holistically- through insight/awareness, emotional release, and tools to work with the body.
