I provide anger management training that addresses the thoughts, emotions, and stress reactions underlying anger; with the goal of significantly decreasing the unhealthy aspects of anger.

Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), you will learn how to address unhelpful thoughts that drive anger patterns and develop presence skills that allow you to maintain control in any situation.
Anger is a human emotion with often a justifiable cause - expectation disappointment, protection of loved ones, and so on - and the key is to learn adaptive ways of communicating and having angry thoughts and emotions without crossing certain boundaries. I want to help you focus on replacing aggressive, unhealthy communication with calm, assertive communication. I want to help you increase distress tolerance and experience anger without letting it "hook" you.
I have trained in Anger Management treatment, I have supervised therapists at an agency treating Domestic Violence and developed programs. I work on a yearly conference which focuses on Domestic Violence.
In the safety of the therapy room, we can explore the triggers that precipitate your angry feelings and develop the skills you need to be able to handle them. We explore and target the other emotions entangled within anger, such as hurt, lack of control, shame, and fear.

Anger is not a disease! It is a process, a transaction, a way of communicating. Most angry episodes are social events. It is fine to be angry but how and when you express it is a key factor. When patients find themselves dealing with family or work situations where anger is causing serious harm and fear, discussion with patients about specific triggers, possible developmental history issues, and techniques to reduce anger reactions, talking to a therapist can be very healing.
