Are you going through one of those difficult periods that life brings us all; whether recent or from long ago? There is a way through and I would like the privilege of being part of your journey. Allow me to support you as you go through it, you don't have to do it alone.
I am a gay man and have always addressed my own experiences as well as others in the LGBT community with a great deal of curiosity. In addition to having explored a great deal personally and with friends, I have supplemented this more personal form of thinking with study throughout my post-graduate career, and feel well-equipped to accompany any patient as they confront questions around gender, sexuality, and identity.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know what it is like. We still live in a world where sadly there is hatred and violence. Even if you've never faced this yourself, the fact that it is there can affect you on a deep level. Fortunately the world is changing, but we still have a long way to go. Many of us as LGBTQIA+ individuals struggle with issues like depression or anxiety, especially social anxiety, chronic feelings of shame or worthlessness. Perhaps we are misunderstood or have been made to feel less-than due to our gender identity or non-binary status. I am someone who can listen and understand, and help you get to the roots of whatever might be holding you back.
Marriage and Family Therapist, M.A., Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #79783
As a queer-identified therapist who has worked with the LGBTQIA+ community for my entire career, I offer a safe, informed, and empathic partnership in helping you heal and thrive. Trauma and the quest for happiness are nearly universal, but the unique challenges and minority stress that LGBTQIA+ people feel shapes our emotional lives in particular ways.
As part of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I am passionate about providing a safe, open-minded, and welcoming space for people of all backgrounds and identities. I have years of experience working with teens, young and middle-aged adults as well as family members of those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. I thrive on helping others discover who they are and feel more empowered to be that person in every day life. Assisting my clients with building insight and understanding into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is an essential part of my therapy practice, and I provide evidence-based practice tools that you can use outside of therapy as well.
