Grief is probably the most painful emotional experience we have as humans. Assuming we live long enough we all come to experience the pain of loss. The loss of a loved one is in the top three life events associated with suicide, yet loss and grief are not only a normal but almost an inevitable part of the human experience. Competent psychological counselling can truly assist with these difficult but normal life experiences.

We can sometimes feel overwhelmed by grief, by the loss of a loved one, relationship breakdown, loss of a beloved pet, ours or others' poor health, jobs and careers or financial security amongst other things. This can present as anger and shock, guilt, disbelief and deep sadness. These emotions can affect our physical health such as poor sleep, lack of appitite and our mental health such as depression. These are normal emotions and part of greiving and there is no one way to experience it or indeed a definitive time. Loss can be experienced for weeks or years.
Counselling can help you explore these feelings, understand them and work though them helping you acknowledge and accept the process you are going throught in a safe and gentle way.
