People come to therapy for a number of reasons; you may be experiencing trauma or bereavement, the effects of historical issues, or knock on effects of the pandemic. A lot of people come to therapy because life just feels unmanageable and are struggling with day to day living. You may not know why life currently feels so difficult.
Talking with a trained and experienced counsellor can help you accept and move through your issues, give you the tools and understanding to cope better with life's challenges and discover a freedom to live with and beyond the things that are holding you back.
Speaking with someone for the first time about personal issues or trauma can feel really daunting. It is important to feel safe and not judged when talking about difficult things, and my aim is for us to develop a relationship where you can explore whatever it is that you need to.
I like to take a direct, open minded and humorous approach to therapy. There are times that don't allow for much humor and that's okay too...I will meet you where you are at!
Along the way, I like to come up with goals and ideas together, using a creative and collaborative approach.

Even if you start therapy to help you out of a dark or difficult time, it is a great gift that you give to yourself. We learn a great deal about ourselves, about others and ultimately about living life with more ease and enjoyment. We will sit together and get curious about what you learnt growing up and in your life to date that created your world-view, your assumptions and even your body's responses to the situations you face today. We'll learn how you manage your world that *work* for you, and where they are causing pain or limiting you. We will find your best ways to unblock and release those old responses- and find new ways of seeing and being that help you to be more at-ease and authentically yourself. I believe every one of us has a soul-nature and way of being that works well for us.
I work with an integrative palette of approaches and tools, and share them with you in our conversations. A good deal of our work will involve working with how the thoughts and emotions land in our physical selves and our nervous systems.
