Bognor Regis, Bristol, London, West Sussex I myself have a chronic pain condition and have done much research into these invisible illnesses and the lack of support that is available. It is hard to really understand how it feels to have these conditions unless you have experienced it yourself
Having worked for NHS since 2013, my patients are referred by two consultants who specialise in balance and hearing issues. My patients present various challenges - mostly struggling with chronic pain or trying to cope with sudden diagnosis and poor health.
Not all pain has its origin in the physiology of the body. Pain can be psychological and this can manifest in the body. There is ample scientific evidence for effectiveness of therapy in helping people manage the pain both physical and psychological. I would like to meet with you to see what can be done to help you. This will enable us to get to know each other and see if we can work together. It’s important for you to work with someone you trust and feel safe with.
Registered Psychotherapist, Postgraduate Diploma Core Process Psychotherapy, DCHyp, ABSCH, MBA
I employ mindfulness based approaches to help people cultivate inquisitiveness around their chronic pain or illness, encouraging them to move towards the difficulties they face rather than wrestle with them, or wish for the day that they were not there. These practices are resourcing and give clients capacity to see their condition more clearly, so that it becomes more workable, significantly reducing the anxiety that comes with such profound life challenges.
Psychologist, CBT Therapist, FMBPsS, MA (Hons), MSc, CertCouns, MSc
I’m experienced in working with long-term pain or physical health conditions which have taken a long time to be diagnosed or been difficult to manage. Sessions are tailored for the individual's needs, including ADHD or other neurodivergence. The conditions I see include blackouts/non-epileptic seizures, Functional Neurological Disorders, Functional Pain Syndromes, gut disorders, urinary tract problems, post-viral fatigue, ME, and Long Covid. I'm a committee member for a UK-wide expert group on non-epileptic seizures, Functional Neurological Disorders and medically unexplained symptoms, with my professional body the BABCP.
