Philosophically, I believe the role religion and/or spirituality plays in an individual’s perception of the family will be guided by his/her worldview. I believe that the overarching consideration that may guide one’s definition of the family may be whether one subscribes to a religious or spiritual outlook on life.
Spiritual and emotional health are intertwined. As we accept God's unconditional love, we can reflect on the wounded parts of ourselves, understand what lies at the root of our symptoms and experience emotional healing from past trauma.
All staff are trained in working with spirituality. Spirituality is a much bigger concept than religion. While many religious disciplines contribute to the wellbeing, spirituality is more basic and fundamental. Gratitude, mindfulness, and prayer/meditation are well known spiritual disciplines. However, almost any activity (or non-activity) has the potential for spiritual impact when intention is brought to connecting with the whole person (body, mind, and spirit).
