Therapist, MSW, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
My approach with social anxiety is understanding your symptoms from a holistic perspective. We will learn triggers for your anxiety, ways to reduce exposure, and how to face things head on with new coping skills. We will use somatic-based mindfulness practices to connect to the physical sensations for a deeper understanding.
Living with social anxiety can be overwhelming and have an impact on your daily life, causing problems at work and at home. My goal is to identify factors that contribute to the problem and help to make a plan to minimize it's effects so that you can be more relaxed and experience safety within yourself.
Social anxiety is a commonly occurring mental health issue, but one that many people and providers do not understand. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help you reshape thinking patterns and particular behaviors in order to create new adaptive experiences and new beliefs which reduce anxiety and increase connection.
