Anxiety is fear that is rooted in the past and the future. Sitting with that anxiety can be debilitating and keep you from your happiness in the present. If you work with me, I can help you start to let go of that fear and cultivate a more present state of being through learning mindfulness skills and relaxation training with biofeedback. Biofeedback lets you see your physical responses to stress in real time so you can learn to gain control over those responses, which will in turn positively affect your mental well-being.
Anxiety is one of the most common reasons that people seek out therapy and I have worked with innumerable clients with mild to moderate anxiety. I focus on cognitive restructuring and small behavioral shifts to support clients in reducing their anxiety and increasing their overall life satisfaction.
Are you constantly tense, nervous, and/or fearful? Do you have unexpected episodes of panic, feeling of desperation, or other overwhelming sensations? These are all symptoms of an anxiety disorder, and fortunately there are methods to control these symptoms and feel better.
My approach to treating anxiety focuses on minimizing symptoms and improving life quality, using techniques that build coping skills and encourage engagement with life's pleasures and challenges. This strategy aims to empower you with the tools to manage anxiety effectively, fostering a sense of mastery and well-being.
