Marriage and Family Therapist, EdD; EdS; MA; MA; LCMFT#0404011018; BCCLC#0131
Several factors have been identified as important in understanding recovery and adjustment among traumatized patients (Green, Korol, & Grace, 1991; Chamberlain, 2008; Pine & Cohen, 2002). These include event parameters, individual child risk and protective factors as well as environmental variables. I employ Family Systems Therapy initially to both the level of exposure to the event and to isolate the level of client psychopathology.
Living with trauma and PTSD can be overwhelming and have an impact on your daily life, causing problems at work and at home. My goal is to identify factors that contribute to the problem and help to make a plan to minimize it's effects so that you can be more relaxed and experience safety within yourself.
Trauma is personal and experienced individually. Trauma complicates our lives and past trauma can cause significant obstacles if not treated. You don't have to wait until its so bad. Healing can start now.
I have firsthand knowledge and experience helping individuals overcome their past trauma and abuse. Trauma can change the brain and negatively impacts on us mentally and emotionally. I will help teach you how to utilize healthy coping mechanisms and skills to be able to process the overwhelming feelings so they no longer control you.
Trauma does NOT need to be a lifelong burden. There is so much that we now know about the body and brain connection in healing trauma. With compassion and a plan, I help you get unstuck, get past triggers, and handle future stressors. I have extensive training in understanding and healing trauma whether it is recent or from long ago.
Therapist, MSW, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
My approach with trauma is to make connections with how it is affecting your current life. Clients are often surprised to learn some of the symptoms that come with trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Some of those symptoms include anxiety, intrusive thoughts, guilt, social isolation, loss of pleasure, hypervigilance, and self-destructive behaviors (to name a few). Although this can seem overwhelming, I use trauma-informed approaches and a trauma reprocessing therapy similar to EMDR.
I provide treatment which typically involves brief therapy, medication, or a combination of both to help individuals manage symptoms and regain a sense of control over their lives.
All Ellie Ocoee licensed and pre-licensed staff members are trained to practice using a trauma-informed approach. Natasha Ramnauth, LMFT, LMHC specializes in working with trauma and PTSD. Natasha also has advanced training as a certified EMDR practitioner.
Find healing and reclaim your sense of safety and well-being with specialized counseling for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Whether you've experienced a single traumatic event or prolonged abuse, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space to process your experiences, address symptoms of PTSD, and rebuild your life.
