I have spent my entire career researching the effects of stress on the body and mind, from substance use and abuse to chronic illness, stress pays a major role in determining our quality of life. Stress results when we deem our current tools to be inadequate for dealing with the challenges in front of us. Using a methodical and affirming approach, I can help guide you to increased ability to cope and reduced negative effects of stress.
Overwhelmed? Feel like there is never enough time? Your "to do" list is never completed? You have high expectations of yourself and don't feel like you are measuring up. Reaching out to talk to someone about it is a first step off the hamster wheel!
I have over 15 years experience supporting clients from a holistic and integrative framework focused on mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. I work with my clients as a guide and a teacher to help facilitate change and the ability to cope with the many life stressors and challenges that we all face such as work-life balance, parenting, depression, anxiety, anger management, multicultural and diversity needs, skill development, and more. I am here as a resource for you to ensure you have the care and services that you need!
When stress overwhelms us, it's time for professional support. I will work with you to identify core issues and stressors and make a plan to resolve them.
I approach stress management with a multifaceted treatment approach integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. Through CBT, I help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns, while Psychodynamic Therapy uncovers underlying unconscious conflicts contributing to stress. Complementing these, Person-Centered Therapy provides a supportive and empathetic environment, empowering clients to explore their feelings and develop self-compassion, ultimately fostering resilience and emotional well-being.
Having a healthy work/life balance helps decrease your overall stress. Together, we will look at your current life stressors and determine what life changes will help eliminate your stress and/ or learn different coping mechanisms to help alleviate your stress level if changes aren't possible.
"Stress" is a word that gets thrown around casually, but mental health stress causes real pain...emotionally and physically. Recognizing how stress impacts you and learning to manage it can heighten life satisfaction in surprising ways!
