All therapists are trained to treat anxiety and fears. Anxiety can be the primary problem or secondary to other problems. If the anxiety is of recent origin, we will use cognitive behavioral techniques to help you reduce its frequency and intensity. If the anxiety is life-long, we will examine your life history and current life situation and help you to develop better coping skills.
Anxiety and fear can be consuming and all encompassing. It can be hard to feel present in your life and enjoy your time with friends and family that you care about. In therapy, we will identify worries and fears that are getting in your way and help you to challenge these thoughts and gain different perspectives on situations.
I work with culturally diverse individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress. I am especially devoted to supporting adolescents navigate the weeds of depression and anxiety (including bullying). I guide clients in developing an intentional mindfulness practice as a management tool for stress and anxiety.
