I have over five years experience supporting ADHD and ADD students (elementary to young adult) in private school and private practice environments. I provide individual and small group counseling in the areas of emotional development, social skills, energy management, and anger management.
ADD/ADHD, overwhelmed, distracted, procrastinating, trouble concentrating, no motivation - by understanding how your brain works, you can turn a"deficit" into an asset.
I have over 30 years' experience assessing and helping treat attention issues. First, we must determine if it is really ADD, or ADD with another issue, or simply another problem that interferes with attention and focus. Then, we design a set of interventions to address the actual underlying problem(s). Unfortunately, I often seen kids and teens who have been medicated for ADD but who don't actually have it. I'm not against medication, just against it if the patient doesn't actually have ADD. One of my articles: https://www.atlantapsych.com/article/addressingattention
I've dealt with the effects of ADHD myself since middle school. Navigating school and other responsibilities can feel overwhelming and defeating. There are strategies and methods that can ease these frustrations. I've had the privilege of working with hundreds of students and adults with ADHD. We can find solutions to these issues together.

Are your tasks piling up? Having trouble doing basic chores? Having a hard time completing things that are boring to you? I help adults with ADHD by creating personalized skills to help you manage the symptoms. I also empower you to use your unique gifts that come with having ADHD.
I provide ADHD evaluations for clients of ages 6 and up, which includes a summary report of clinical findings for use with medical or school-related purposes.
I believe to effectively treat ADHD you have to have ADHD. I don't treat ADHD by trying to make you act or seem like someone you're not. I treat ADHD by helping you develop skills, habits, and support for whatever aspects of ADHD you would like to improve.
