Hello, my name is Marilyn Dabney. I had past trauma and was stuck in a toxic relationship. I dealt with grief and depression. It was not until I sought counseling that my life began to change for the better. I was so overjoyed with the results I received that I wanted to help others as well. So, I received my bachelor's degree in Christian Counseling, training and Certifications in Lay Counseling, Christian Counseling and Life Mastery Coaching. I believe that having achieved life mastery in my own personal life and by using techniques and methods I've learned, I can teach others how to do the same. i have been a licensed therapist providing therapy since 2014. As all therapists will tell you, this career is very rewarding and most of us love what we do - helping people. What makes me different is I am laser-focused on helping each and every client learn their own personal power and how they can replace sadness and fear with joy and fulfillment. We'll do this by addressing your past trauma's, family dysfunction, as well as distorted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that developed as a result of growing up and older in unhealthy relationships. Gaining awareness, changing these patterns, and learning effective coping skills, is key to stopping anxiety and depression (most common struggles) and any other issues that may be robbing you of the life you so desperately want and deserve. In addition to focusing on mental health, I'm currently working on another degree to get certified as a holistic practitioner, so I have a wealth of information regarding natural healing and steps toward physical wellness if a client wants or needs that type of information and support.

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe non-judgemental space for all clients, especially clients who may not click with other therapists such as LGBTQ+, gender diverse, polyamorous or non-monogamous, and kink practicing clients. During our sessions you can be your true self. You don't have to mask with me or hide things about you that you think are weird or unlikeable. Ideally I can help you learn to like those aspects of yourself. You never have to hide important parts of your identity with me because I will never judge you for any reason.
