Many of my clients who struggle with self-esteem feel inferior to other people. They may find themselves constantly comparing themselves to other people. They may struggle to manage eating habits and exercise and feel negatively about their bodies. I work with clients to understand the root of these struggles. We work together to create sustainable lifestyle habits and improved self-esteem.
There are times we have had experiences or interactions that have dampened the way we see ourselves. So often our inner voice is quite negative and judgemental. Through therapy, we will examine what your self-esteem is based on, where it needs strengthening, and how to shore up your coping skills, self-talk, and sense of self.
Self-esteem is something everyone struggles with from time to time. My belief is that it comes from childhood messages from both environmental and caregiving factors. I am positive that through talking and working through these factors that patients can find relief and new perspectives on their self-esteem and self-worth
