While receiving my doctorate in clinical psychology, I also received a graduate certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice. I used this experience to gain more insight into treating internalized heteronormativity and shame within the LGBTQIA+ communities.
When bias and discrimination are part of a person's problems, I show them how not to anger themselves and then how to address the prejudice and discrimination constructively. In cases where people are shameful about their sexuality, I teach them how to unconditionally accept themselves and never to shame themselves for who they are and what they like both sexually and non-sexually.
I am a Certified World Professional Association for Transgender Health Care (WPATH) GEI SOC7 Member. I have extensive training, research, and clinical experience working with transgender and gender-diverse youth, adults, and families.
