Psychologist, Licensed Therapists in the State of Michigan
Our therapists have been working with adolescents in a variety of settings including in schools, in family therapy, out in the community, and in an office settings to best address the problems unique to middle and high school students. We can help with issues of depression, anxiety, school avoidance, homework issues, drama, oppositional behaviors.
I can relate to children and adolescents to help them manage their stress, frustrations, and hardships that are experienced in their youth. I work particularly well with adolescents and establishing a strong therapeutic alliance can help them to feel comforted and safe to discuss difficult topics.
I help teens learn the best ways to cope with changes they are facing. I lot of teens I work with have high expectations for themselves and have a lot of pressure on them. We work on strategies to combat anxiety and stress that this time in life brings. I help college age students adjust to the unique challenges they are facing with adjusting to new schools, moving away from home, and balancing academics and other responsibilities. I also work with their parents, so that teen-parent relationships can be improved and parents can find the right strategies for helping.
Child and Adolescent Issues often present differently than adults. With this in mind, it is important to work at a child or adolescent's developmental level. I work with these special clients to meet them where they are, and to address their specific areas of need, including friendships, relationships, bullying, and academics. Suicidal ideation is also a rising concern among this population.
As a Licensed Psychologist and School Psychologist in PA, I am able to provide both therapy and evaluations for your child or adolescent.
