Most frequently, depression feels like a cloud over your head. Sometimes this could dictates your day and sometimes it does not. Either way, I enjoy helping my clients understand the contents of the cloud to help them regain their independence and freedom.
For depression treatment I use mix of techniques from person-centered, existential-humanistic, feminist, narrative, TA, and gestalt theoretical orientations.
Loss, failure, or undeserved plight are associated with depression. I will teach you how you disturb yourself when you experience these things and how to stop disturbing yourself by learning to change what you can change and accept what you cannot. There are occasions when people have pure biologically based depressions, but often distorted thinking and rigid attitudes are major factors in depression.
