Master Certified ART Practitioner - As a Master Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) practitioner, I use ART, an evidence-based, non-invasive technique that rapidly reprocesses traumatic memories through eye movements and talk therapy. By reframing disturbing events when the brain is receptive, resolution occurs for stuck negative emotions, urges and flashbacks. I supplement ART with Adlerian principles to encourage active collaboration, self-efficacy and coping strategies tailored to one’s life.
At Newport Institute, we understand that maladaptive behaviors in young adults don’t come out of nowhere, even if it seems that way. Coping mechanisms such as drinking, drug use, and self-harm are often signs of trauma that hasn’t been resolved. For young adults to heal from PTSD and trauma disorders, they need treatment that helps them build resilience, insight, and the courage to face the past—so they can move freely into the future.
I greatly value research and provide the most up-to-date treatments for trauma and PTSD. In particular, I provide Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (both that have the most research support for them). This means that you will feel better faster and be able to get back to your life.
If you're struggling with the lasting effects of traumatic experiences, know that healing is possible. Trauma can profoundly impact your mental, emotional, and physical well-being, but with the right support, it is possible to find relief and regain control over your life. As a therapist with expertise in trauma-informed care, I provide a safe and nonjudgemental space for you to explore your experiences, process your emotions, and develop coping strategies to navigate the challenges of PTSD. Together, we will work at your own pace to address triggers, manage symptoms, and cultivate resilience. You deserve to live a life free from the grip of trauma, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.
I provide Healing-Centered Trauma Informed Care. I have experience working with many types of trauma. I use Healing-Centered Trauma Informed Care to emphasize physical, psychological and emotional safety, and to help survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment. I can help you connect with your most resilient self to recover and heal from past experiences.
I am here to tell you that you are enough. I can help you through EMDR and family-of-origin work to help uncover and rebuild the life patterns that may not be serving you well. Sometimes these patterns show up as Anxiety. Sometimes these patterns show up as depression. Sometimes you know or suspect you have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Does it feel like sometimes you just keep looking for words describing what's wrong with you?
Diagnoses are not you. You're not broken. I can help you build the life you want to lead.
