Depression can range from the nagging blues to the debilitating despair that keeps a person in bed for days. I've seen in my own life the difficulty of dealing with depression and the importance of addressing it early and intentionally so it doesn't grow. The good news is that there is hope for those who struggle with depression. Lifestyle changes, working on thinking patterns, skills to develop - these can all help with overcoming depression. And I'm willing to walk with you the whole way.
When you are feeling depressed either all the time or for prolonged periods, life can be very difficult to manage. Depression can surface through feelings of sadness, isolation, decreased interest in your life or others, feeling blue or sometimes depression can be seen as anger or acting out in certain areas of your life. These times are very hard to try and get through on your own.
When you are depressed, therapy can be very beneficial to help you understand the source of your depression and be able to develop new ways of understanding and coping with these feelings instead of feeling so stuck and immoblized.
I provide support to recover from depression by helping you understand your emotions and the thoughts and behaviors that might be contributing to your depression. Through a unique combination of talk therapy and creating art I can help you understand and identify the how experiences in your life or past or current events are impacting your mood and depression. I can help you gain insight and problem solve to problems they may be able to solve or improve regain a sense of control and experience pleasure in life again. Engaging with the relaxing method of art making can reduce stress and make it easier to talk about feelings and what might be occurring in your life that is contributing to your depression. Being an artist is not necessary. I have helped many recover from depression and gain a sense of pleasure in life again.
Depression is a very personal and sometimes uncomfortable subject to discuss. At Revitalize, we work towards relieving symptoms of depression by exploring areas where client started to feel "stuck". This can include discussion regarding family history to current feelings of hopelessness.

I’ll invite you to challenge the negative ideas you have about yourself and we’ll explore where those ideas may have initially come from.
