Emotional disorders affect children too. This can lead to behavioral and developmental problems. We help children improve and we help parents get their good children back.
Therapy offers children and adolescents a supportive and empowering space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, build resilience, and develop the skills they need to thrive during the tumultuous adolescent years. By working with a skilled therapist, young people can gain greater self-awareness, confidence, and emotional well-being as they navigate the transition to adulthood.
We offer a therapeutic approach just for preteens and teens. We provide a safe and professional environment with the aim to better understand preteens and teens. We are able to help them express their feelings, identify and solve problems, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

Adolescence is a time when we experience social issues, as well as issues of identity, independence and dealing with authority figures. It can be a tumultuous time for adolescents and parents.
Through a cooperative, supportive relationship with the right therapist, adolescents can become aware of any behaviors and conflicts are contributing to their unhappiness, as well find ways to be independent and meet your goals while facing parental or authority figure demands. By talking with someone you trust and feel comfortable with, I believe anyone can learn to know themselves better and to get more of what they want from life.
Imagine having your childhood and teen years recorded LIVE in front of an audience, because that’s basically what kids in our ever increasingly digital world are navigating daily. There is collective anxiety regarding the world they will inherit - climate, race, social media, the economy, oh yeah and college applications. For people still developing their pre-frontal cortex, they are having to manage a lot decisions with long term outcomes.
Therapy gives kids and teens the opportunity to take an active role in their health care with a trusted adult who isn’t a family member or teacher. The coping skills and personal insights they develop now, they will carry with them into their adulthood.
I have been working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral needs including trauma, neglect, oppositional defiance disorder, depression, anxiety, and in general young people who need a safe space to for self-exploration and building confidence.
As a family therapist, I work with families around the range of issues that affect children and adolescents from depression and problems in school, to behavioral problems , parent child conflicts, and family communication issues. I work with the whole family together. Often resolving general issues in the family will help resolve issues that children are having, even when the connection is not obvious. I find that working with the whole family is a quicker and more effective way to help resolve child and adolescent issues.
I adore children and adolescents. I have worked children and adolescents for years and have really come to see and understand the very particular needs of our youth. A lot of times, they just need validation and someone to just hear them. In sessions, I draw from psychodynamic approaches, play therapy approaches and CBT to support their particular needs.
