We have many therapists who are experienced in helping with improving self esteem. Clients always discover feelings of own worthiness as a result of doing psychotherapy. Please take a look at our general statement here and our website: https://talkingworkscounseling.com/
Low self-esteem can impact every aspect of our lives, but it doesn't have to define us. In therapy, you'll find a safe and supportive space where you can explore the root causes of your self-esteem issues, challenge negative beliefs about yourself, and learn to cultivate a more positive and compassionate self-image.
Self esteem is ever changing as it is always influenced by our external experiences (ie: a new job) as well as our internal experience (ie: negative or positive self talk). I will work with you to develop a healthier self image while working through past experiences that have, or continue to wound your confidence.

Struggles with coping with self esteem issues can lead to problems with relationships, work, or other areas of our lives. Through a cooperative, supportive relationship with the right therapist, you can explore how your struggles with self esteem impact your happiness and ability to get what you want from life. By talking with someone you trust and feel comfortable with, I believe anyone can learn to know themselves better and to get more of what they want from life.
The therapeutic relationship that cultivates self-compassion, trust and openness lends to a safe space for those struggling around issues of self-confidence and self-esteem.

There is difference between Self Esteem and Self-Worth, though often used interchangeably. Building positive self esteem is how we evaluate ourselves. It is our internal assessment of our qualities and attributes. We have healthy self esteem when what we think, feel and believe about ourselves is honest and realistic. Unhealthy self esteem can lead to the trap of Narcissism. Low self-esteem is underestimating or ignoring your positive characteristics. Do you tell yourself that you are stupid, lazy, boring, selfish, or generally a bad person because of the things you think, say or do? Through various modalities and new learning, I will help you build skills of positive self-esteem and especially realize your intrinsic value, goodness and capabilities i.e. your Self-Worth. One of the most fulfilling aspects of helping people in my practice is restoring a positive self image, self worth, and discovering inherent strengths. I like to use cognitive restructuring but also mindfulness visualization to build up an ideal version of oneself.
Do you ever notice yourself being extra hard on yourself? Maybe you've heard that suggestion to give yourself a break, but it's tough because self-criticism just seems to come naturally. It's like compliments almost make you squirm because they don't quite match up with how you see yourself. But let me tell you, there are definitely some good things about you that deserve acknowledgment. Let's explore where these beliefs about yourself come from so we can start to shake them off. And I've got some tools up my sleeve to help you deal with those negative thoughts about yourself, so they don't weigh you down as much.
