Emotional abuse if often much harder to identify than physical, although most ACoAs experience both. It includes all the cruel ways we were talked to, and all the loving ways that were NOT provided. (Blog : 2012)
Emotional abuse therapy aims to build self-esteem, self-worth, and assertiveness and boundary-setting skills. Emotional abuse recovery assists victims in clarifying their relationship needs and finding ways to get such needs met. When applicable, therapy provides a safe place in which to process and come to terms with relationship loss.
We believe that the counseling environment should be a safe space where clients are able to be their authentic selves, while expressing complete vulnerability.
In Emotional Abuse Therapy, our therapists work with individuals to rebuild self-esteem, establish boundaries, and develop coping mechanisms to break free from abusive patterns.
