Parenting cam often be so overwhelming that we end up just repeating what we saw and what was normalized in our family of origin. My passion is working with clients to break all multi generational cycles and patterns of dysfunction that they may have learned from family of origin. We unpack the "family-culture".... those unspoken ways of being that create strife in parenting. Guilt, shame, anger, poor communication, lack of follow through, teen age rebellion are all part of the work that we unpack in sessions about parenting.
As a parent to three children (ages 23, 18 and 12), I have experience with parenting challenges and I am ready to work together to overcome these challenges and build a healthy relationship between child and parent. I recognize that each family dynamic is different and adapt my therapeutic approach to provide age-appropriate strategies suitable to your family's needs.
