Treatment will start with education on how social anxiety works, then we will move towards targeting different aspects of social anxiety, such as mind reading, poor goal setting prior to entering a social situation and the tricky ruminating after a social event.
I use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to help you learn to recognize, understand, and gradually change your negative thinking and worries related to social anxiety. CBT will require your active participation and willingness to engage in "homework" activities outside of therapy and to eventually participate in imagined or actual exposure activities aimed at helping you learn to manage your anxious feelings when engaging in social situations.
Explore and identify a deeper understanding of one's experience of social anxiety. Identify root causes, triggers and create self-care and coping strategies that bring awareness and healing.
