I have been working with individual diagnosed with ADHD for the past 10 years, and have experience working with all ages. I work to help the client better understand ADHD, how it impacts their daily functioning, and explore ways to better manage the symptoms of ADHD.
I define myself as a “neurodiversity affirming therapist” and feel absolutely honoured to work with neurodiverse individuals and couples. This means I understand and work with autism, ADHD and other neurodiverse groups through the lens of neuroscience. Autism is associated with differences in the brain which result in a divergence from neurotypical standards, in terms of how brains filter and make sense of information. I endeavour to help clients shed misplaced humiliation and a sense of failure by becoming conscious of and removing the notion that ‘typical’ traits are superior. It is the neurodiverse individuals in our society that move humanity along.

It is normal for us to have something else on our mind, or be preoccupied with something on our minds while doing another task. ADHD on the other hand is a pervasive behavioural condition that makes concentration, controlling impulses, and daily tasks a challenge.
