Daniel, an ADHD-CCSP (ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider) with the Combined type of ADHD, has extensive experience spanning many years. ADHD has been a mixed bag for him, bringing both advantages and challenges. The challenges included severe hyperactivity, inattentiveness, and notably slower maturity compared to his peers. However, growing up on a farm provided him with ample space to expend his energy and explore creative outlets, mitigating these challenges. Despite this, socially and academically, he faced significant difficulties, such as spending many years in the “Learning Resource Room” with other struggling students, among other challenges.
Despite these setbacks and failures, Daniel displayed brilliance with creative thinking, moments of exceptional attention to detail, and deep emotional intuition. Later in life, he was able to merge these strengths with remarkable academic success, earning his master's degree with nearly a perfect GPA.
At 58, Daniel continues to face challenges posed by his own ADHD, yet he has harnessed its unique strengths to become a person of remarkable capabilities and character. He is intimately familiar with developmental disorders such as ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and personality disorders, which are often linked to trauma, due to familial experience.
