For many of us, overwhelming experiences from the past, are a part of our legacy and history. Even if many years have gone by, the past may seem ever-present. Often we may recognize without fully understanding how the past continues to impact us today. You might experience anxiety, fear, depression, triggers, and other symptoms, that are hard to fully understand and even harder to lessen. You may even recognize these as signs and symptoms of trauma or PTSD. But yet, these symptoms may persist and even worsen over time.
At ThriveWell Counselling, we create a safe space to explore the impacts trauma has had emotional, psychological, and physically within your life. Through developing an empathic and compassionate understanding of your experiences and the ways you learned to cope with these, we can support you in developing a deeper connection to yourself within. ThriveWell uses a holistic approach to treating trauma and PTSD symptoms by integrating a number of trauma-focused therapeutic approaches. Through working with EMDR, Ego-State Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing and other therapeutic modalities, we will work with you to process, integrate and move forward from hurtful experiences, in a way that strengthens resilience and facilitates lasting healing, so that you can move from surviving to thriving.
