The experience of trauma is one that inevitably impacts our sense of safety and security in this world. As you work to process traumatic experiences in your life, I am honoured to support you in re-gaining a sense of empowered agency over yourself and your life. I use compassionate inquiry, as well as somatic interventions, to help clients find the sense of peace that is often missing following the experience of a traumatic event.
Research has revealed that when a traumatic event occurs, the emotional reaction can get stored in our bodies. When this happens we call it trauma. I have trained in many approaches to foster trauma recovery and will use one or more in session. I like to apply Somatic Experiencing to connect to and release trauma held in the body, and I use Internal Family Systems to identify and help parts of ourselves whose protective function is no longer necessary or optimal. Trauma work is lengthy and challenging, but I believe it is necessary if we want to be free of the control of our past.
As a trauma and attachment specialist I am honour to work clients,I understand that it takes to be brave and courages to open and deal with the deepest wounds one has experienced, and requires that a therapist goes beyond compassion and good intentions but well educated experienced in the field of trauma to support clients in addressing the significant changes and disruptions from the aftermath of trauma.
