Sexual addiction, pornography addiction, or other sexual dysfunction prevent a person from experiencing their sexuality fully. Do not hesitate to reach out for help if you face these issues.
Sexual addiction, like other forms of addiction, try to fulfill an unmet need, make us cope with life and stress at a detriment to our relationships and meaning in life. To help process this I try to incorporate stress and anxiety management skills, self-compassion and self-esteem building, as well as addictions counseling that emphasizes the power of choice.
At Reflection Centre, we understand that sexual addiction can be a challenging and often isolating experience. Our therapists are trained to help individuals struggling with sexual addiction to explore the underlying factors contributing to their behaviour and develop healthier coping mechanisms. We use evidence-based approaches to treatment, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), to help individuals develop new ways of thinking and behaving around sexual activity. Our therapists also provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their feelings and experiences, helping them move towards a healthier relationship with their sexuality.
