My work focuses upon an holistic view of the individual and their history. This means our focus is less upon individual 'symptoms' and alleviation of these, and more upon what the 'symptom' might be communicating about imbalance in the individual. This leads on to an examination as to what needs to change at the level of body, mind, emotion and spirit.
I have lived experience Bipolar and can provide practical therapy to individuals. I like to provide therapy with a person-centred approach and perspective.
Bipolar disorder can lead to significant distress for the person experiencing mania and depression and for those who love them. I am experienced working with people in both positions and aim to help you improve your mood symptoms, recognise early warning signs, safety plan, and work with the rest of your care team most effectively.
As a psychotherapist and mental health nurse, Kate has an understanding of bipolar disorder, treating the condition psychotherapeutically, whilst having the training to observe important patterns.
