Problems with attention, impulsiveness, and disorganization can sabotage an otherwise bright and motivated person. I use a variety of tools and strategies to help preteens and teens with ADHD learn executive functioning, behavior management, and emotion regulation skills. Often this will involve parents learning strategies and creating plans for home and school.
At New Horizon Counseling Center we offer individuals, couples and family counseling in a group practice setting with licensed counselors and social workers. Our trained, caring therapy staff offer a variety of approaches to meet the specific needs of each client in a safe and calm setting.

Difficulty paying attention, sitting still, and controlling impulsive behaviors may be signs of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
We have over 10 counselors at 3 locations with various specialities. We have multiple counselors that work with ADHD, including children, adults and offer ADHD assessments.

I utilize psychoeducation to better understand the impacts of ADHD on development, then provide useful tools for the deficits that may exist for improved outcomes and coping skills. Depending on the severity, it is important to understand that if there are some delays; it will take patience and acceptance to allow for change and the client will need support.
As a neurodivergent provider, I enjoy working with clients with ADHD and/or autism and collaborating with them to find ways to have a more joy-filled and enriching life and increased sense of wellness. I take a strengths-based, affirming approach with neurodiversity, offering quality care that will see and value your unique traits, identities, values, and lived experiences.
