Depression is a mind and body experience which leaves clients feeling despair and hopelessness. My compassionate approach will meet you where you are with empathy and gentle guidance to find beauty and hope again.
I use research-based techniques to help clients improve symptoms of depression. My education, clinical, and personal experiences with depression qualify me to teach coping skills depressed mood or loss of interest or pleasure. Culturally-responsive and developmentally appropriate practices are incorporated to help clients achieve treatment goals.
Depression can look like walking through quicksand with the sky falling. On the other hand, it can present itself as a happy-go-lucky, always dependable, hard, working coworker that never misses a beat. It can make a client feel so isolated they feel numb to the kindness of a stranger or deny them the ability to get out of bed. My role is to offer a helping hand to the one in quicksand holding an umbrella or ask that coworker how they are doing despite their smiling exterior.
