12% of Australians experience severe levels of stress according to the Stress & Wellbeing Survey conducted by the Australian Psychological Society in 2011. Our therapists employ a variety of approaches to help you regain your balance. These include helping you identify the causes of your stress, managing underlying emotions and value struggles, developing better assertiveness and looking at your overall relaxation strategies
My work focuses upon an holistic view of the individual and their history. This means our focus is less upon individual 'symptoms' and alleviation of these, and more upon what the 'symptom' might be communicating about imbalance in the individual. This leads on to an examination as to what needs to change at the level of body, mind, emotion and spirit.

The mind causes tension due to the inability of a person to deal effectively with these expectations A counsellor enables the individual to identify these internal expectations and thus reduce or avoid the pressure overload which manifests.

If you are feeling anxious and reacting to everything that’s going on around you, or finding it hard to unwind and relax, then I can work with you to identify what is causing your stress, and how to manage it and make the necessary lifestyle changes to bring about more peace and calm in your life.
