With a passion for working with youth and young adults, I support individuals to reduce worry or fears around not being liked, to reduce overthinking, and support them in recognizing and highlighting their strengths, and figuring out their needs in relationships. With a focus on managing symptoms of anxiety, supporting those diagnosed with ADHD, and helping to navigate complex relationships, I work with individuals to reduce feeling as though they are a burden, in building and maintaining healthy boundaries, and in finding ways to cope with uncomfortable or unwanted feelings.
Wherever you are on your journey, let’s walk together and navigate the challenges that have brought you here. I offer free consultation appointments where we can talk about any questions you may have. I look forward to meeting with you.
This therapeutic approach meets you where you are at. Often barriers such as location, time management, etc. may prevent a person being able to access services. Being able to meet within the comfort of your space allows, for those barriers to be removed.
The real connection between us know no distances, and in meetings online we can meet and speak any time and place, making it easy, comfortable and convenient for you to reach out, and for me to respond when something needs to be addressed
I offer services exclusively through teletherapy and secure video sessions. This is support you can access from the comfort of your own home, making it easier to fit into your schedule, but with all the same benefits of in-person psychotherapy.
Through our virtual session offerings, our practice can now reach clients anywhere in the world --- providing you with exceptional therapeutic support from the comfort of your own home.

Mission
As a Registered Psychotherapist, Joshua Lewis is focused on supporting individuals through a therapeutic process that seeks to restore mental and emotional wellness, provides avenues for deepening one's connection to self and others, while fostering compassionate inquiry, understanding and meaning-making into the challenging experiences that often make up a human life.
Approach
Joshua employs a psychodynamic approach that is rooted in the therapeutic relationship built between client and therapist.
This model of psychodynamic psychotherapy seeks to reveal the unconscious, dynamic content of the mind, in an effort to alleviate mental tension which can manifest in a variety of symptoms that distort and disrupt our sense of self and well-being.
By uncovering the hidden roots of our unintegrated thoughts, emotions and behaviours, we can consciously change how we experience the world and ourselves.
In addition, Joshua uses an embodied, trauma-sensitive approach that may include: Relational Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Art Therapy, Somatic Bodywork, Contemplative Psychotherapy (Mindfulness-Based and Compassion-Based Therapy.)
Issues I Work With
These approaches may be particularly helpful for those seeking to work with: Abuse, Addiction, Anxiety, Bereavement, Career/Work, Chronic Pain, Depression, Divorce Separation, Grief/Loss, Infidelity, Intergenerational Trauma, Obsessive/Compulsive Tendencies, Relationships/Family, Sexuality and Gender, Spirituality, Trauma.

Tired of being pathologized? Feeling isolated? You are not alone. While each person possesses unique resources and skills, trauma responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) can throw one off balance from their consistent, preferred way of living.
I will collaborate with you to demystify personal values from unhelpful thought patterns to cultivate your unique and personal integration of mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills into your life.
As a witness and collaborator in your journey, I can offer you a respectful, strengths-focused approach in a supportive, safe, non-judgemental space where you can reflect, feel heard, and skill build.

Phone or video sessions focus on identifying important life areas and personal values that are vital to a rich and meaningful life, as well as the thoughts and feelings that tend to get in the way of taking steps towards such a life. Mindfulness and compassion training is then used to help understand inner obstacles and to change the relationship with problematic thoughts and feelings so that they no longer get in the way of valued living.
Counsellor/Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist, Qualifying
I offer virtual sessions to make therapy more accessible to those who prefer to be in the comfort of their own home. Using a secure and reliable platform ensures client privacy where sessions are equally as effective as if we were face-to-face.
Although I prefer having face to face sessions with my clients, I understand how difficult it can be (for a variety of reasons: bad weather, childcare, work, health issues) to attend therapy in my office. For this reason I've made online therapy an integrated part of my service.
I work with clients both virtually and in-person. Virtual appointments can be via telephone or secure video conferencing using Jane. If you're up for a video I recommend it because it allows for a deeper connection and I can tune in to your body language to better understand the information that you are conveying.
Heal The Centre for Wellness offers 1:1 and couples virtual counselling for a wide-range of mental health concerns. Meet with one of our trained psychotherapists to see if they're a good fit for you.
I provide online therapy through video calls, messaging, and/or phone calls. I use a secure platform called Janeapp in my practice. I conduct sessions with clients remotely, offering support, guidance, and counselling for various mental health concerns. This approach allows individuals to access therapy from anywhere, making it convenient and accessible. I provide online therapy adhering to the same ethical and professional standards as traditional in-person therapy, ensuring confidentiality and quality care for my clients.
Seeking therapy can be a scary process - I commend you for taking this first step. I have worked for over ten years in a helping both adolescents and adults find a voice through the scariest of situations: be it interpersonal relationships, personal strife, or work related concerns, I believe that having a place to unpack these issues is one of the biggest steps to achieving the health you deserve.
