Sometimes people don't make lasting change in therapy because their ambivalence about change is not adequately addressed. Change can be scary. One part of you may long for change and another part depends on the comfort of doing what works in the moment, even if if comes with long-term damage. In our work, we would explore if there is any ambivalence and resolve it before we get to the business of change.
I am a summa cum laude graduate in both my undergraduate and master's programs and have extensive training in the treatment of: trauma, relationships, OCD, codependence, substance use disorder, and grief.
