Positive Affirmations To Raise Happy Kids
Affirmations help kids build healthy levels of self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth. If you are unfamiliar with affirmations, I want you to think about them as words that feed the soul.
Affirmations are words that we use to promote healthy thoughts, feelings, and actions.
For instance, when a person says the words “I love myself”. They are likely to experience positive feelings from the words. The feelings then shift to create healthy and positive thoughts. Lastly, the person often engages in positive actions.
In essence, this practice helps people grow into their best version due to the generous nourishment of compassion given.
Positive affirmations are a form of self-love.
Raising happy and confident kids is directly connected to the inner voice. Your child’s voice.
Consider your child’s inner voice. This is the voice that your child uses daily. You have this voice and I have this voice. We all have it.
Parents can teach their kids how to strengthen their inner voice by creating space to practice affirmations.
You may be thinking, how exactly do I teach my child to use affirmations.
I’ll show you, one method today.
Kids like games. So, let’s make it a fun and interactive game.
This affirmation game is connected to doing one silly action while saying the affirmation.
I’ll share a few examples that you can practice.
Fun Ways To Help Your Child Practice Affirmations
- While making silly faces say, “I am proud of who I am”.
- While doing the chicken dance say really loud “I give myself permission to take breaks”.
- While doing jumping jacks say that you love each part of your body. Go one by one. Such as “I love my ears. I love my eyes.”
- Using your singing voice say “I am thankful for all of the support and kindness that I receive.”
The goal is to practice the affirmations more days than not. You have 7 days a week. Let’s try to practice this activity at a minimum of 4 days per week. The activity can last under 2 minutes. Have fun with the activity.
Benefits To Practicing Affirmations
- Improve self-confidence.
- Remove the mindset that you need to be perfect.
- Learn to love yourself.
- Accept feedback in a constructive manner.
- Improve self-worth.
- Accept yourself.
