Fiona Grace (She/Her)

Counselor/Therapist, AdvDipCounselling &Pyschotherapy MBACP
Finding the right counsellor for you is one of the most important parts that will make therapy more effective and successful for you. Its not just about our qualifications but how we connect and work together. I am a Neurodivergent counsellor and have found this out very late in life, I understand how it feels to just not fit in or be able to conform to the 'norms' of society, to struggle to work out why we are different. How to find ways to learn who you are and love all those 'quirks' that make us different. I understand how this feels and will work with you to help you find your way to manage what you are experiencing. I have learnt experience with CNBC - childless not by choice and Chronic Pain & Fatigue conditions. With both of these I find it can really be beneficial that I have an understanding of how it feels and not just how it is to study these experiences. As well as working with Adults I also work as a counsellor with young people in schools, colleges and my private practice.

Fiona Grace Practice Description
I offer counselling for older children, young people & adults. I have over 17 years experience in areas of social services, housing, schools. I am Neurodiverse myself & work with many ND clients also with chronic pain, bereavement, depression, anxiety, self harm, low self-esteem, childless not by choice, menopause and many other presenting issues. It's not always easy to reach out and ask for support. We often feel that we can manage on our own or don't want to bother anyone with our thoughts and feelings. It can be hard to find a balance between work, relationships, family & other commitments to prioritise yourself. No matter what brings you to therapy the most important part is the relationship we will share. I aim to ensure you feel heard & give you a space to work through anything you want to bring to help you have a greater insight & self-awareness and I will walk alongside you on this journey. Counselling isn't a one size fits all package it's as individual as you are. My learnt experience with being neurodivergent, CNBC and with invisible illness (chronic pain & fatigue) helped me to have more insight in to myself and then support you with what you bring to me, it can help to know you are not alone and that your counsellor really understands how it can feel and not just have studied this condition. I can support you to embrace your own 'quirks' and experiences and provide you with a space to offload and say all those things you may have felt afraid to because you thought you would not be heard, didn't want to bother someone, worried you might be judged. I understand how hard it can be to reach out but you are not alone, everyone has their own struggles & I hope to help you work through yours so that you will be able to have confidence again & feel like you are gaining back control of your life. I won't pretend I can fix you as I don't believe anyone is broken, we just sometimes feel that we are for a while. I offer an initial free consultation call so that we can talk about what is going on for you and then we can see if we are a good match to help you decide if you would then like to book sessions with me.
