Ruby Linhan Booth (She/Her)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LISW-S
 therapist: Ruby Linhan Booth,
Online in Ohio (Online Only)
My approach to therapy focuses on breaking away from the traditional, one-size-fits-all model of therapy, which often centers norms and ideas that don’t reflect our diverse experiences. I focus on creating spaces where you can explore your identity on your own terms. Whether you’re navigating your gender identity, supporting a gender diverse child, or working through the complexities of neurodiversity, my approach centers your story, your community, and your culture. I use creative methods like role-playing games and Minecraft therapy, because healing isn’t just about talking—it’s about finding new ways to express yourself and reconnect with your power. As a queer therapist and parent of a gender diverse child, I know firsthand how therapy should be a space for liberation, not just “fixing” what society sees as different.

Ruby Linhan Booth Practice Description
In my practice, I offer a variety of services that are designed to support LGBTQ+ folks and their families in ways that are affirming, engaging, and grounded in real-world needs. All of these services are centered around empowerment, self-expression, and community connection. For kids and teens (and some adults!), I use creative, interactive methods like Minecraft-based play therapy and role-playing game (RPG) therapy. These approaches help young people express themselves in ways that feel natural and fun, while also developing emotional regulation, communication skills, and self-advocacy. The familiar environment of Minecraft allows kids to explore challenging topics, while RPG therapy lets them experiment with different identities and scenarios in a safe space. These forms of therapy are especially powerful for gender diverse youth, helping them gain confidence in who they are while building real-life skills that go beyond the screen. For parents of gender diverse children, I offer comprehensive support that goes far beyond just therapy for your child. Parents can access a secure parent portal full of resources and tools, take part in expert Q&A sessions, and receive family action plans after each session. These plans provide clear, actionable steps for supporting your child between therapy sessions. The goal is to create a network of support for your entire family, ensuring that you feel empowered to navigate your child’s journey with confidence and clarity. For adults, I specialize in gender exploration, neurodiversity, trauma and affirming therapy for those in poly or ENM relationships. My approach is centered on your unique experience. I draw from somatic, narrative, and Gestalt therapies, helping you connect with your body, rewrite your internal narrative, and stay grounded in the present. Whether you're unpacking identity, processing trauma, or working through relationship dynamics, I’m here to support you in creating the life you want. No matter where you are on your journey, I offer a range of services that can meet you where you’re at—offering real, practical tools for growth, connection, and self-discovery. Whether you’re interested in individual therapy, play therapy for your child, or relationship counseling, each service is designed to be as empowering and engaging as possible, helping you feel seen, understood, and ready to take on whatever comes next.
