Is your trauma holding you back?

Stark Wellness Clinic

Have you ever felt like you’re carrying an invisible weight every day?

Maybe anxiety sneaks up on you, or waves of sadness wash over you without warning.

Perhaps there are days when physical pain seems to come out of nowhere, leaving you feeling drained and overwhelmed.

These are all natural responses to trauma, and if you’re experiencing them, you’re not alone.

How do I know I’ve experienced trauma?

Trauma is often misunderstood. Many people believe it only arises from extreme events like sexual assault or combat. However, trauma can stem from many events, including:

🟠 Emotional neglect

🟠 Divorce

🟠 Loss of a loved one

🟠 Bullying

🟠 Infidelity

🟠 Any situation that overwhelms your ability to cope

It’s important to recognize that trauma is subjective; what may be traumatic for one person might not be for another. It’s not about the event itself but rather how it affects you. Everyone’s experience with trauma is different.

So, acknowledge your pain, and don’t undermine it. Honour your experiences and recognize your feelings; that is the first step toward healing.

How does Trauma affect your day to day life?

Trauma can deeply affect our lives in ways that are often unseen. You might find yourself feeling:

🔸 Emotionally Drained: Constantly on edge, anxious, or irritable, even with no clear reason.

🔸 Physically Unwell: Experiencing unexplained aches, headaches, or stomach issues.

🔸 Mentally Foggy: Struggling with concentration or memory.

🔸 Behaviorally Different: You may avoid places, people, or activities you once enjoyed or notice changes in your sleep or eating patterns.
