I believe that in order to achieve more intimate, loving relationships, we must first honor ourselves and connect to our deeper sense of wisdom and self-love. That’s not always easy. Life’s pressures can wear us down. We may lose ourselves in the demands of daily life and become anxious, overwhelmed, resentful, or out-of-sync with the people we love.
As a relational therapist, I want to help you reconnect to your inner truth. I’m committed to developing a meaningful, warm, and trusting relationship with each of my clients. By working together in a caring, and safe environment you can explore your thoughts and feelings away from the pressures and distractions of your everyday routine and begin to experience healing, consider new possibilities, and create positive change.
My work as a marriage and family therapist and divorce mediator flows from my career as an attorney and from my own personal journey as a wife and mother. My journey has ebbed and flowed, filled with the triumphs and challenges that life often unveils along the way. I’ve backpacked through poverty-stricken parts of the world, worked endless hours in competitive, urban corporate offices, learned to balance the demands of career and family, and discovered the illusory nature of control. My experiences have taught me humility, compassion, resilience, non-judgment and a profound respect for the beauty and complexity of our individuality and our need for community. My training combined with my life experiences have guided my belief that we can all move forward towards greater fulfillment in our lives when we feel seen and supported in our journey.
In my clinical practice I've helped my clients enhance personal growth, strengthen their marriage, overcome infidelity, foster mindful separation or divorce, facilitate effective co-parenting, build stronger alliances between parents and children, and navigate grief and loss. My theoretical orientation includes Emotionally Focused Therapy, family systems, psychodynamic theory, Gestalt, bioenergetics and integrated mind-body therapy including polyvagal theory. My areas of specialty are depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family dynamics, parenting, adulting, infidelity, divorce therapy, divorce mediation, trauma and grief.
